Hammerhead Operations is a young company with lots of construction experience, being a part of $200 window installations, $100K cabins in the woods, $150M hotel and apartment building projects, and everything in between. I got my start in construction helping my grandfather build pallets for a shipping company, and producing wooden stakes for a concrete company. I was using power tools at nine years old. My first contracted job was re-siding my neighbors house one summer at the age 15. I started out at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Construction Management / Civil Engineering but I left to pursue a school with more social life. I have a Business degree and an Economics degree from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. I am a third generation builder. My great grandfather had four sons, my great-uncles: Lloyd, Avery and Arthur and my grandfather Kenny. All served our country's armed forces. Lloyd was enlisted in the army when the United States was attacked at Pearl Harbor, although he was deployed elsewhere. My grandfather fought in the Battle of the Bulge and Avery fought at Iwo Jima. They all returned to Northeastern Illinois to resume their lives as farmers and eventually they started Leable Brothers Construction. My Dad started his own business, G.E. Leable Construction, with his brother in the late 1970's, while Arthur's son Bradley started a construction business, B.A. Leable Construction, with whom I worked during summer breaks from High School. Avery's son Kurt moved to California to learn how the boys frame out west before moving home to start his own construction company. Since moving to the Roaring Fork Valley in January 2005, I have been a framer, a construction Project Manager, and now I keep 15 + of the best construction professionals employed with me, framing, siding, excavating, roofing, building log homes, custom homes, and modular buildings all over the Roaring Fork Valley, Colorado, Western United States, and as of recently, the world. |
